Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
